New Version of Propertyware

Posted by Sina Shekou   Comments (4)

The much anticipated new version of Propertyware is here! This new version of Propertyware introduces a wealth of enhancements to Propertyware Sync for use with QuickBooks, a gallery of standard lease notices, a powerful new way to generate tenant statements, and much more.

LEASE ENHANCEMENTS

Designating Your Named Lease Contacts
An enhancement to Propertyware Leases allows you to designate whether a contact added to a lease is "Named on the Lease." This enhancement allows you to easily identify your resident tenants, as distinguished from cosigners or guarantors on any given lease. For ease of identification, your leases will be named after contacts designated as "Named on the Lease"
( i.e. , Smith-Jones-Rogers).

Simplified NSF Processing
Propertyware no longer creates an adjusted journal entry when recording a payment returned as a result of insufficient funds. Rather, a new unpaid charge in the amount of the returned payment will display on the tenant ledger and will automatically debit the bank account from which it was returned.

Simplified Prepayments
Propertyware no longer creates a journal entry each time you apply a prepayment toward an unpaid charge. Rather, the original payment which created the prepayment, once applied, will update to display all covered charges in real-time.

Improved Format for Selecting Accounts
The various accounts that appear within your Chart of Accounts are now uniformly organized throughout the application by account number and description. For ease of identification, accounts appearing within the application's various drop down menus will now sort in the following ordering: Account Number - Account Description ( i.e. 4230 - Laundry Room Income).

LEASE NOTICES AND TENANT STATEMENTS

Letters and Statements Template Gallery
Built into the application, Propertyware's Template Gallery provides you and your team a repository of available mail merge templates for common document types, such as residential lease agreements, lease renewal notices, rental applications and more. Using this Gallery, you may readily initiate a mail merge using the template of your choice. Propertyware's online Template Gallery is shared publicly with all users on your team and ensures consistency in content delivery and notice generation within your organization.

Introducing a Mail Merge Editor
Also built into the application, the Mail Merge Editor brings you the functionality to design your own mail merge templates for documents of any type, from lease notices to tenant statements. Located within Setup | Mail Merge Templates, the Mail Merge Editor renders the hassles of working in MS Word and uploading templates to your Propertyware account a thing of the past. Now, you may design your templates completely online within your Propertyware account.

Enhanced Letter and Statement Generator
Found within the Reports tab, Propertyware's Letter/Statement Generator is now enabled with advanced filters that allow you to select your intended mail merge recipients using advanced definitional fields.

PROPERTYWARE SYNC FOR USE WITH QUICKBOOKS

Our innovative Propertyware Sync for use with QuickBooks affords you the ability to synchronize data between your Propertyware account and QuickBooks accounting software. New enhancements to Propertyware Sync for use with QuickBooks now permit the following:

Automatic Sync Updates
Edits made to previously synchronized data in Propertyware will now automatically update in QuickBooks at every subsequent sync. User should always edit data within their Propertyware account to ensure proper synchronization with QuickBooks.

Synchronization of Bills
Propertyware Sync for use with QuickBooks synchronizes both paid and unpaid bill from your Propertyware account. Bills that are paid in Propertyware, using the Propertyware Bill Pay feature (located in the Money Out tab) and marked "To Be Printed," will be sent to QuickBooks as a check queued for printing. Once the check is printed and assigned a check number in QuickBooks, this information may then be synchronized back to Propertyware. Alternatively, any unpaid bills transferred from your Propertyware account may be paid in QuickBooks and then synchronized back to Propertyware. Users should avoid paying the same bill in both Propertyware and QuickBooks.

Accrual Basis Reporting
Propertyware Sync now supports accrual basis reporting within QuickBooks. This is made possible with an enhancement that now transfers your property income to QuickBooks as Statement Charges and Payments, rather than Sales Receipts. This methodology of transferring your income as Statement Charges before payment is received, and as Payments once afterward, provides you and your team the flexibility of using both cash-basis and accrual-basis reporting within QuickBooks.

QuickBooks Classes
Our enhanced integration with QuickBooks now enables you to customize how your Propertyware data will appear in QuickBooks. Propertyware utilizes the QuickBooks Class and Customer/Jobs lists to organize the manner in which your Propertyware property and lease data transfers to QuickBooks.

One Button Sync
Updates to the Propertyware Sync client include an enhancement under Options| Configuration that allows you to automatically approve new entries created in QuickBooks, thereby bypassing you and your team from validation prompts.

Sync Progress Meter
Propertyware's sync progress meter now displays more detail on the status of the sync in progress.
