Neighboroo.com, a Web tool that can be used by home buyers and sellers to look up home-price and sales information for a specific town, city or ZIP code, as well data on its schools, household income, property tax rates, crime, commuting time, job growth, and demographic characteristics such as age, sex, political affiliation, religious preference, etc.
Neighboroo.com goes beyond highlighting just home pricing trends and offers data on a host of neighborhood characteristics, even the likelihood of natural disasters such as hurricanes or earthquakes occurring. The site's heat maps are a useful tool for comparing how neighboring ZIP codes stack up in terms of home prices, local school performance, age and income of residents, etc. The search tool can be used to find locales that meet a certain criteria. For example, a search on the site for cities with a high number of young families and an average price of less than $200,000 for a three-bedroom home turned up Boise, Idaho, and Orlando, Fla., among others.
