A small office building in midtown Manhattan sold for $510 million. At $1,600 a square foot, brokers say that's the highest price ever paid for office space in the United States. The latest reports from big real estate brokers show that the average Manhattan condo sold for around $1.3 million in the past three months.

Okay, this is just pure insanity! I had a chance to listen to Donald Trump Jr. and Ivanka Trump speak at the BuildingsNY show last week and they are projecting that prices/sq ft could reach $3,000 in the next few years. Somehow this seems cheap to the Europeans who are experiencing record rates of inflation.

I guess it is all relative to the mega-millionaire that can't accepting living anywhere else than the 4 blocks that surround their favorite SOHO neighborhood.
