Deactivating Buildings
Propertyware allows you to deactivate a Building that you no longer manage. Before you can deactivate a Building, you will need to terminate all leases attached to the Building and each of the units within the Building. A deactivated Building and its related data will no longer appear in the application, except in the following places:
Income and Expenses recorded against this Building will still be available in your reports.
You may view the Building's Summary Page on the Properties tab by selecting the Inactive radio button on the property navigator. Note that the building can be reactivated from this page.
To Deactivate an Active Building:
Search for the Building or click the Properties Tab from any page of the application.
Select the Building you wish to deactivate from the Property Navigator menu on the left side bar. To simplify your search, use the "View By" Filter from within the Property Navigator menu to refine your search by Building. All Buildings will then display as menu items within the Property Navigator menu, each identifiable by name and a blue building icon.
Click on the appropriate building name to view its detail.
Select the Deactivate Building option from the sidebar's Related Activities menu.
A window will appear asking you to confirm the deactivation of the Building and its included units. This action cannot be reversed. Click the Ok button to proceed.
If you have terminated all active leases associated with the Building you wish to deactivate, the Building and all of its associated units will then delete.

|
Be sure to finish all of your business pertaining to a Building before deactivating it (i.e. work orders, owner's statements, outstanding charges for leases, etc). Although Buildings can be reactivated, completing your related management business before deactivating the Building will save time. |
To Reactivate a Deactivated Building:
You will need to have enough units licensed in your subscription to reactivate any desired buildings. Note that only your Propertyware Administrator may perform this action.
Go to the Properties tab and click the Inactive filter on the Property Navigator located in the sidebar. Set the View By filter to Building to display deactivated properties in the Navigator. All Buildings are identifiable by name and a blue building icon.
Select the Building you wish to reactivate from the resulting list in Step 1.

Click the red Reactivate button from the Building Summary page.
A window will appear asking you to confirm the reactivation of the Building and its included units. Click the Ok button to proceed.
Once a Building has been reactivated, you can view it by using the Property Navigator or search.
