Who is a Property Manager?

In Propertyware, a Property Manager is the point of contact within your organization who is in charge of communicating with prospective tenant leads and leasing rental vacancies that appear on your Propertyware Website. When a prospective tenant submits an Online Guest Card from your Propertyware Website, an email notification containing the submitted rental inquiry will be automatically sent to the assigned Property Manager. As internal members of your organization, your Property Managers are set up as users, not as contacts within the Contacts Tab of the application. As users, your Property Managers may be granted access into Propertyware to generate certain reports, such as the Lease Expiration or Vacancy Reports, and obtain information concerning the rental properties they manage.

Note

Property Managers are set on the Building in Propertyware. When viewing a Portfolio, the Property Manager list will show all managers assigned to buildings within that Portfolio. This list may not be modified by editing the Portfolio, but only by changing the Property Managers assigned to buildings within the Portfolio.

Only your Propertyware Administrator may designate Property Managers, a high level privilege not relegated to other users:

To assign a Property Manager to a Building:

(1) For a new building: create a building and complete entries within the Property Managers menu.

(2) For an existing building: edit the building and complete entries within the Property Managers menu.

Completing entries within the Property Managers menu requires the following:

How do Property Managers access Propertyware?

Your Property Managers may access the Propertyware application only once after your Propertyware Administrator verifies their user account information and configures a password for them, by following these steps:

  1. Edit the user account to update the user's contact information and create a password.

  2. Grant and restrict user access within the application's various tabs, as appropriate, by configuring user permissions and profiles on the user account. If your Administrator opts to manually set a password, rather than prompt the application to auto generate one, the password must then be communicated to the Property Manager. An auto generated password, on the other hand, is automatically delivered to the user by email.
