What is a User Profile?
By creating a User Profile, a Propertyware Administrator restricts users of the same Profile from accessing data within particular tabs of the application. This is a way to ensure that a group of users has the same level of access to the application. Each user within your organization must be assigned to a Profile, and there is no limit to the number of users that may be assigned to the same Profile. Within these Profiles, you can create a series of User Profile Restrictions that apply to everyone assigned to that profile.
User Profile Restrictions
User Profile Restrictions disable users grouped under the same User Profile from accessing certain areas of the application, including entire Tabs, authority to alter Templates, and the ability to alter data within particular tabs, which is also called "Read-Only Access".
If you have different groups of people who use Propertyware for different reasons, and you would like to restrict these users from data within the application, your Propertyware Administrator can set the following User Profile Restrictions for users assigned to the same User Profile:
-
Restrict access to certain tabs within the application (i.e., turn a tab on/off). If users are restricted from accessing certain tabs of the application, then these tabs will not appear within the application they log in.
-
Restrict viewing rights within unrestricted tabs (i.e., full access or read-only). If users are restricted to Read-Only Access to certain tabs of the application, then they will be unable to make modifications within such tabs.
-
Restrict functionality within certain tabs of the application (i.e., limit approval and financial oversight capabilities). Users may be restricted from approving work orders or transferring financial data within the application.
-
Establish a hierarchy between user groups (i.e., who reports to whom). Users may be positioned within a reporting chain of command.
