To assist you with the upcoming changes related to your Tenant Pro account, we put together the following questions and answers about how these changes will affect you and your business. If development and technical support for Tenant Pro are being discontinued June 30, 2014, which products will be affected?
All Tenant Pro products, licensing and support, will be affected including:
- Telephone and email support
- Support contracts
- Activation code requests
- Unit capacity upgrades
- Workstation licenses
- Subscription licenses
- Online Knowledge Base
I use Screening in Tenant Pro. Will I be able to continue using Screening after Tenant Pro is discontinued? Can I get support for Screening?
Support for Tenant Screening will continue through Leasing Desk after June 30, 2014. Their support team can be reached at (800) 708-2172. Tenant Screening by Leasing Desk is fully integrated within Propertyware and existing Tenant Pro Screening clients can easily transition their service to Propertyware.
I paid for a Tenant Pro Complete license as well as a Tenant Pro Support Plan. Is it possible to have that amount credited towards a new Propertyware subscription?
Payments made for Tenant Pro Complete licenses and/or an annual technical support contract can be credited towards a new Propertyware subscription or refunded, if your expiration date extends beyond the June 30, 2014 cutoff. The credit or refund will be prorated to your expiration date. Additionally, for Tenant Pro users who sign an agreement for a new Propertyware subscription by April 30, 2014, we are offering to waive the implementation fee to assist with the transition from Tenant Pro to Propertyware.
How long will we have access to our historical data through Tenant Pro?
There are no restrictions on accessing your current Tenant Pro data; however, if issues arise with your data, software or hardware, you may be faced with a situation where you are unable to access your data all together and our support teams will no longer be able to assist you in these situations.
I do not want to convert to Propertyware—how do I extract my data for use in another program?
Tenant Pro does not have the ability to extract all data to a single file. To obtain your information outside of Tenant Pro, we recommend that you run reports containing the desired information, and export the reports to Microsoft Excel®.
Is Tenant Pro compatible with Microsoft Windows 8®?
Tenant Pro is not compatible with Windows 8, and because development is being discontinued, it will not be compatible with any future versions of Microsoft Windows.
Can I keep using Tenant Pro even though you are no longer supporting it?
You may continue to use the software although we strongly advise against it. If issues arise with your data, software or hardware, you may be faced with a situation where you are unable to access your data all together and our support teams will no longer be able to assist you in these situations. Additionally, we will not be able to provide any support, additional add-ons, units or activation codes after June 30, 2014 which is why we are providing advance notice to allow you the opportunity to transition to Propertyware, which is fully supported.
If I decide to switch to Propertyware, will we be able to migrate all of our data from Tenant Pro to Propertyware? And how long will the transfer of data take?
Due to the inherent differences in the databases, not all information can be converted. All of your records, such as Properties, Units, Leases, Tenants, Vendors, etc. will be converted to Propertyware, along with Property and Lease balances, but individual transactions cannot be converted. The sooner you can commit to switching to Propertyware, the sooner we can schedule your migration and implementation, including more specific dates and timelines. Our Implementation team will help address any data transfer issues and timelines with you during this process.
How much will it cost to move my data over to Propertyware?
If you decide to switch to Propertyware by April 30, 2014, the implementation fee will be waived. You will still incur a monthly subscription fee based on your unit count. For more information on pricing, please contact us at 1-855-976-9502 or sales@Propertyware.com.
I am currently using Tenant Pro Complete and understand my software license periodically expires dependent upon my subscription. Will you provide me with a new activation code if my subscription expires between now and June 30, 2014?
For Tenant Pro Complete users with current annual subscriptions, we will no longer be providing activation codes to re-instate your Tenant Pro Complete license for a full year. Tenant Pro Complete is the only version that will stop working once the annual license expires and users will not have the option to renew their license to expire beyond the June 30th date.
If your license of Tenant Pro Complete expires before June 30, 2014, we will offer monthly subscription renewals and activation codes to extend the expiration date to the June 30, 2014 cutoff. There are no plans to extend subscriptions after the June 30, 2014 date or to leave activations open ended. After June 30, 2014, all support related to activation codes will cease.
I have a previous version of Tenant Pro (TP5, TP6, TP7, TP7 SQL). Does it have an activation code that expires?
All previous versions of Tenant Pro (TP5, TP6, TP7, TP7 SQL) were not sold with permanent licenses, and the activation code for these legacy products does not expire. However, we will no longer offer the Activation Codes necessary to validate those licensed installations, meaning that should you need to install / re-install a previous version for any reason after June 30, 2014, you will be unable to validate your installation, rendering Tenant Pro unusable, and your data inaccessible.
Do the expiration parameters vary per version of Tenant Pro?
No, all versions of Tenant Pro will expire on June 30, 2014.
How do I find the expiration date of my activation code for my version of Tenant Pro Complete?
To verify your Tenant Pro Complete subscription Expiration Date, please follow these instructions: Open Tenant Pro Complete, click on Setup from the Menu Bar, and select Serial Numbers from the drop-down list. Your Expiration Date will be the fifth field from the top:
There is no expiration date of your activation code for previous versions of Tenant Pro. This is one reason why we are providing ample notice of support stopping after June 30, 2014. We have no plans to update the product to fix bugs or to meet new hardware requirements, so if issues arise with your data, software or hardware, you may be faced with a situation where you are unable to access your data all together and our support teams will no longer be able to assist you in these situations.
